TYAZHMASH will participate in upgrading of Verkhne-Tulomskaya HPP

At the end of March, JSC TYAZHMASH and LLC Teploenergoremont (Moscow) concluded the contract concerning the second stage of Verkhne-Tulomskaya HPP upgrading. TYAZHMASH will carry out designing, model testing, manufacturing, and delivery of equipment for the hydraulic units st. Nos. 3 and 2, in particular hydraulic turbines, generators, systems of excitation, automatic control, synchronization, and protection, with subsequent installation supervision.

TYAZHMASH will manufacture hydraulic turbines of vertical Kaplan type. Runners with the nominal diameter of 4.35 m and power of 76.2 MW will be equipped with oil-free plugs to eliminate oil ingress into water. Radial seal of shaft will be applied in hydraulic turbines to provide long service life of wear elements.

This contract is not the first one for JSC TYAZHMASH participating in Verkhne-Tulomskaya HPP upgrading. Previously, TYAZHMASH has been selected as a manufacturer of equipment for hydraulic units st. Nos. 4 and 1. Now TYAZHMASH is focused on long-term work with TGC-1 on upgrading of stations and supply of new hydraulic turbines.
