January 23, 2018

At the end of December 2017, JSC TYAZHMASH and JSC EC ASE concluded the contract on supply of two core melt localization devices (catchers) for the first and second power units of NPP Akkuyu (Turkey). The contract price is $12,000,000.

NPP Akkuyu is the first nuclear power plant in Turkey. Its construction is being executed under the Russian project that includes four power units with Russian reactor facilities VVER-1200 of 3+ generation in compliance with the highest safety standards. Power of each unit will be 1,200 MW.

NPP Akkuyu will be put into operation in 2023, and in November 2018 TYAZHMASH should start shipment of manufactured equipment.

JSC TYAZHMASH possesses wide experience in production of core melt localization devices: two catchers have been manufactured for Tianwan NPP (China), six ones are being produced for NPP Kudankulam (India), NPP Ruppur (Bangladesh), and NPP Bushehr (Iran). Moreover, in 2017 TYAZHMASH created worksite for sacrificial materials production to improve the shipping period and profitability.

Since 2015 TYAZHMASH has been manufacturing reactor vault equipment and inspection shaft equipment for four power units of NPP Akkuyu.
