TYAZHMASH concluded two contracts on supply of transport complexes for Kurskaya NPP-2 and NPP Rooppur

September 15, 2017

JSC TYAZHMASH concluded two contracts on manufacturing of equipment for transport complexes. Two complexes will be produced for Kurskaya NPP-2 in Russia, and two — for NPP Rooppur in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Total value of the contracts is more than 1.6 bln roubles including VAT.

Transport complex is used at nuclear power plants for safe transfer of processing equipment and new and spent fuel into the reactor facility hermetic zone. Equipment of the transport complex is used both during the facility construction and operation. In summer 2017, transport lock for the first power unit of Belorusskaya NPP was shipped from the plant. The second power unit of Belorusskaya NPP will be equipped with transport lock as well.

While developing the new equipment, specialists of JSC TYAZHMASH will consider the specific requirements of the General Designer. For example, space of nonhermetic zone will be located inside the lock housing. The diameter of transport lock will be 10 meters, its length — 12 meters, and the weight will be increased up to 300 tons.

New structure of transport lock will be agreed with the General Designer. In accordance with terms and conditions of the contracts, Kurskaya NPP-2 will be equipped with transport complexes in 2018, and NPP Rooppur — in 2021.
